IMAGINARY NUMBERS
There are basically two major categories of numbers: real numbers and imaginary numbers. Fortunately, the two are easily distinguished from one another in that imaginary numbers are always accompanied by an italicized lowercase letter “i.” It is therefore safe to assume that any number which is not accompanied by an italicized lowercase letter “i” is a real number.
